I <3 my family!

This past weekend my Aunt Beth and most amazing cousin Tricia came down from New York to visit. They came Thursday night (which I was working for) and left Sunday afternoon. We had a very good time.
Friday I took Tricia to the barn with Jared. I got Tricia on Dewey, the calm little pony Jen has. He's very well behaved, normally. When Jared got on him Friday, though, Dewey was feeling spunky. But when I got on him with Trish he was very good. We didn't do anything past walk. Here's pictorial proof I got her on:

After the barn we made a rush back to Grandma's so we could make the ferry in time (made it with 7 minutes to spare and didn't even speed!). We had shrimp scampi and garlic bread for dinner, YUM! and then made slice and bake cookies for dessert, YUM. After that Tricia, Jared and I played a lot of N64, which we always do when we're at my Grandma's. We headed home around 9:30 and just hung around.

Saturday we woke up and went shopping. I got two pairs of shorts and two shirts for summer (can't wait!!). Tricia Joey and I rode separately so we wouldn't have to endure the remainder of the shopping My mom and Aunt Beth had to do that did not involve us! We went home and played some baseball/softball. Joey pitched to Tricia and I (yeah, first time I've played softball in probably 2 years, and I hit 80% of what he threw to me!! I was so proud). Then we played some basketball which I totally suck at.. but it's okay. We also played frisbee, and I discovered I stink at that too!
We all went out to Greene Turtle that night for dinner for my Aunt Beth's birthday. I do love that place, it's on the cheaper side and it's always got good music, good service and good food. Jared, Joey, Tricia and I had to bounce after we ate to get Jared's tux for prom. The lady had the audacity to kick Tricia, Joey and I out of the store because we weren't buying the tux.. lame! We ended up just sitting outside the store and people watching anyway.
Went to meet everyone at Grandma's for birthday cake after that, courtesy of Aunt Margo. It was delicious, as all her desserts are! We all left there around 9 PM, and went back to my house. Jared, Joey, Tricia and I played.. boogeyman.. which is a stupid game my cousins and I made up when we were little, and we made Jared play it with us. It was so fun, though. After that we all proceeded to listen to my mom talk about how much of a bee-otch this woman she works with is. We came up with clever ideas for my mom to use to spite this woman, but she won't do them :(.

Next day I played video games with Tricia until she left around noon and went out to the barn with Taylor. It was a beautiful day, and Callie was a very good girl. Especially considering the bugs were SO bad and they were bothering her a lot. After the barn, Taylor took me out to a lunch at McDonalds in her new car with the top down ;). She has a 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio, it's so cute and little. After our lunch date she took me to her mommas house and we watched a hilarious movie with her sister. Went home that night and watched 24 with the family.. which is becoming a greater and greater show the more I watch it!

Okay I'm done blabbing about my weekend. I guess I'll watch Jared attempt Avenged Sevenfold on Rock Band now :P

Solo

Yesterday evening, my close friend Ashley's horse Solo had to be put down due to colic. There are several types of ways a horse can colic, and I'm not sure what happened exactly. But when horses generally have colic, they lay down and do not get back up, and they experience extreme abdominal pain.
Ashley has had Solo for many years, and we both kept (keep) our horses at Jen's farm in Tyaskin. When I first had Callie at Jen's, Ashley brought Solo down maybe two months after I did. We immediately clicked, Ashley and I, as well as Callie and Solo. Both of our horses were high strung, and loved to do nothing but run and be spastic. We would trail ride together, and do speed games together. Ashley often drove me down to the barn and we'd ride together all the time. I got to ride Solo a few times, which is a pretty big deal, considering he's very, very high strung. Ashley let very few people ride him. He meant a lot to her, and he had a special place in my heart. He was, after all, Callie's boyfriend. I often referred to him as my "son-in-law". I've known Solo for a very long time, and he means a lot to me, as does Ashley.
He was a very special, and lucky horse. He will be missed forever.

Dreadful.

It's 2:20 PM, I need to get ready to head out to work in about an hour and twenty minutes, and I'm savoring every moment I have at home.
Apparently, there's something going on at the civic center tonight, and I have a lot of reservations, which I did not know about. So I'll probably be at work until pretty late, ugh :S
Cross your fingers that they scheduled a second buser, so I don't have to be a slave of 4 waitresses and worry about my own job at the same time.

In other news: My Aunt Beth and Tricia are coming down this weekend to visit, and I'm very excited! It's my Aunt Beth's birthday this upcoming Sunday, and they're leaving Sunday, which kinda sucks.. but we'll get to celebrate Saturday.

And something else I failed to mention in my last post: Jared has been coming down to see Callie with me since a few months into our relationship. He's always been very good with the horses, calm and collected. He helps me out a lot, too. But ever since we moved Callie to Jen's, he has a new found love for horses. He now is very eager to come down to the barn with me, and he gets to ride Callie virtually every time he comes out. He's a fast learner, and Callie is being very patient with him. I'm very excited that he's becoming more interested :)

I'm stopping here, because John Stamos is on Ellen.. and I'm a little distracted by the TV.
He's so dreamy.

Can't think of a title

Been very busy lately. I think I was maybe home for a total of 6 hours this weekend.

On Friday Jared, Taylor, Kristen, Tyler, a buncha other people and I went to see Last House on the Left. It was creepy as hell. There was an extremely long, drawn out rape scene that screwed with my head. But I was happy because *SPOILER* all the bad guys, and the guy who did the raping, got brutally killed by the end of the movie, and all the good guys lived. I left with a smile.

Saturday I hung out with Taylor and her sister Megan. We went to OC for a bangin' breakfast at Satellite Grill, even if it took probably an hour to get our food out to us. It really makes the food taste better when you have to wait longer. After that we went to Chaunceys in OC and Marshals. I got two shirts at Marshals for 30 bucks, zing!
Later that night I went out to dinner at Applebees, and it was actually busy.. which is ironic, because earlier on that same day, Megan and I pointed out how Applebees never does much in means of business. I got pasta with alfredo sauce and shrimp.. yumyum. Then after that I went to a friends house for a bonfire.

Today, after leaving my friends place, I went to my riding lesson, and we're really starting to make good progress with Callie. When I first got on she was doing well, so of course we decide to push the envelope further, because that's how you progress, right? Well Jen got on her briefly, and Jen is much stronger and bigger than I am. Callie wasn't too fond of this plan. She pranced, pinned her ears, tried to nip Jen's toes.. but this is all normal for Callie. Callie hates trying new things, and plays dumb to get out of them. This is her biggest flaw, and is the main reason we never make huge progress during shows.
But after Jen got on, I got back on and we had an idea to try out. We put Callie on the lounge line while I was still on her, and put side reins on her. Side reins are a stimulation for my hands, and put contact on her mouth to ask her to bring her head down. Callie is good at stretching and reaching her head down, but when she does, she shortens up her stride. What we want is her to stretch her head down, and her legs out. With me on her, I could encourage her to move out while the side reins encouraged her to bring her head down. She did wonderfully, and was very tired afterwards.

Came home tonight and watched 24 with the family, which I'm starting to get into. I watched the "24 Redemption" movie with them, and although it broke my heart, I enjoyed it. I'm now starting the most recent season with them. Joey, mom and dad have watched all other 6 together, and they made it a ritual to watch while I worked, so I never really had the chance to get into it. It's a pretty good show so far!

And now, I'm off to bed. Tomorrow, Mom and I are off to Annie's restaurant in Kent Island to get her crab soup. I promised I'd take her there for her bday which was in February, but we're just now getting around to it!

A nintendo DS for the nintendo fangirl?!?!?!

So as an extremely late christmas gift, my wonderful boyfriend got me a pretty blue Nintendo DS, which I've been wanting one for years, but never had the money to get one (and when I did other things came to find first). [[Also in Jared's defense, he got me TWO christmas presents, on time, but the bigger of the two, a Wii game, I already had.]]

I also got three games with it, Animal Crossing: Wild World, Sonic Rush, and Nintendogs. I now officially own all 3 released Animal Crossing games, which are fun, adorable games where you are a cute little character living in a town with fuzzy animals and you do mind numbing things like fish and catch bugs. I LOVE IT! I've always been a huge Sonic fan, and this game is no exception. I'm actually enjoying it a lot- it reminds me a lot of the original sonic games for the Sega Genesis which I always miss. Last but not least, Nintendogs, which is another adorable little game where you get a puppy (I got a corgi, of course) and you name it and train it and such. It's sooo adorable, I love it.
Now I just need to obtain any Pokemon games for it I can get my hands on... Gotta catch 'em all! (I'm funny I know.)

In other news: I feel almost 100% better, other than the fact that I'm still very physically weak. Walking up the stairs makes my heart pound! But I'm not huddling over the toilet or living in the bathroom anymore, which is good. Everything should be back to normal tomorrow. School, which I kinda miss, and I get to go see my baby girl Callie :}

Can't catch a break

So once again, I'm sick. THIS TIME it's a stomach flu.
Someone shoot me in the face.

Class of 2009

So I got my senior class ring today, it's soooo pretty! It has my birth stone in it (topaz) and it says James M. Bennett around the outside. Along with "20" on the left end of the ring and "09" on the other. I love it!
Lately, it has just been hitting me that I'm a senior. Like, I'm graduating in 79 days and counting. Which sounds like a lot.. so let me rephrase that. I'm graduating in 3 months! (I need to get a white dress for graduation.. ahh!)
I'm also getting "senioritis" worse than I probably ever will get it. Mostly because it's 3rd term. Meaning I only have one left, AND I'm getting the biggest work load I've gotten all year, which is to be expected, considering I don't have much in means of a 4th term.
In my English class we're currently reading Cry, the Beloved Country, which isn't a terrible book, but it can get a little redundant. Also in English we're writing our oh so lovely senior papers! I would of been stoked for mine, since I was GOING to do it on String Theory, but Wicomico County Board of Retards decided to make it a requirement for all 12 CM English students to write their senior papers on the history of the Eastern Shore. They're making us do this because every year they give out like, 200 dollars and a certificate to a student who writes the best paper on the history of the Eastern Shore.. and no one ever does it. HMM, I wonder why?! Maybe because no one really gives a crap about the eastern shore, and its sorry excuse for a history. I'm doing mine on pony penning, which isn't a TOTAL drag but the fact that I didn't get to do my epic String Theory paper kind of ruined this "experience" for me. Oh well.
AP Biology really never changes. I have it first period, and my teacher is totally not a morning person. He knows what he's doing and he's very knowledgeable in Biology but he tends to trip over his sentences a lot and forgets what he's talking about, rofl. He's such a funny guy, though.. in a discreet way. I enjoy the labs we do in there, but his tests suck.
and AP European History is the biggest thrill of my day. I LOVE that class, so much. I love history and enjoy my teacher and my class (even if they're outrageously loud at times :S). My teacher is really into what he's doing and that makes the class even better. He's such a riot, too, and we're always laughing in his class nonstop. There's never a dull moment in there!
But anyway, back to freak out session..
I have prom in like, 3 months also. I have my dress already, because when I went with my friend Jake last year I couldn't choose between these two dresses, so I just got both and saved one for this year! I don't have pictures of it, but you'll see it when I post pictures from prom, haha. I have my date, of course! We have before prom plans to go to dinner with about 40 people, apparently. BUT I feel like that's not going to happen, because the girl who has planned it all is very disorganized and I think last minute she'll cancel it. For prom weekend I'm going to veg out on the beach in OC, eat a lot, and play tons of DDR. I'm so excited!!
Can't wait to graduate :)

Listen,

Snow is a wonderful thing.
We got it sunday night, had off school monday and today (Monday was a professional day so we would've had off either way), so on top of all my sick days I've hardly been to school in the past 2 weeks :S
I am, however, feeling better! I'm still a giant nasal drip but other than that all my other symptoms are gone, yay!
Now let me talk about my weekend.
Friday- went out to dinner with family to Boonies for Mom's birthday. Our appetizer was fabulous, and mom and I split crab soup that was to die for. But, my actually dinner was just eh. I partially blame it on being sick, because everything that had any remote sent of vinegar or anything (ketchup being one of them) made my nose burn, leaving french fries out of the question. I thought the shrimp was a little dry, but it is what it is. After that we came home and I played WoW 'til like midnight.. shocker.
Saturday- We had Uncle Greg's birthday party at a winery in DE, it was fun! It was catered, some of the food was good, but some of it did not appeal to me. Zac, Nic, Cynthia, Tori, Joey, Max and I all hung out and jammed and did stupid stuff. Nothing unusual!
Here's a picture of me, my pop and my dad from the party..
And another of Cynthia, Tori, and I!

Sunday Jared came over for the day and we played WoW with Joey.. another shocker I'm sure.. Taylor came over later and spent the night.
And monday and today I really just laid around and enjoyed my time off 8)
