Concert of epic proportions.

So as previously mentioned, Max and I went to a Slipknot/Coheed and Cambria/Trivium show in Baltimore last night. It was AMAZING!! We went general admission, meaning we were down on the ground near the band, and the venue held probably 10,000 people (there are a lot of seats there, too). Definitely the best show I've ever seen, and I've been to a fair amount. I did however, come home extremely sore with a few bruises. You get "pushed around" a lot at rock shows.. and this one was no exception. Probably the most brutal one I've been to.

Trivium was good, but I only knew two of the songs they played (they only had a half hour set, though.) They were the first band on and the second they began playing their first song everyone went off the wall. Max and I were stuck next to this extremely EXTREMELY drunk girl in the beginning who was flailing everyone and screaming to her date that she wanted to get up to the front. He kept telling her she'd never be able to get through the crowd but she kept trying. Later on, I saw her crowd surfing and she got hit in the head. Then by the end of the show we saw her humping a different guy. I overheard several people ask one another "Are they trying to dance or having sex?" ...Weirdos.

Coheed and Cambria was up next, and they were excellent. I knew all but 2 or 3 of their songs, which I ended up enjoying regardless. They didn't interact much with the crowd, but they put on a great performance.

And last, but not least, was Slipknot.. after waiting 45 minutes in between Coheed and Slipknot (you could tell why we waited so long after the curtain came up and you saw their stage.. holy crap). They were amazing, and so much fun. I can't even begin to describe how much fun I had listening to them. Before they came on, I was completely beat. I was so tired and my legs felt like jello, but the second SlipKnot started playing I got a huge adrenaline boost and was fine. Their drummer is AMAZING, and had 2 or 3 different drum sets set up for him and he'd jump from set to set. One of his drum sets lifted in the air and did a flip while he was playing it... SOOO SICK!! Their synth player had a revolving stand he was on with a screen in front that showed us what we looked like. One of the other people in the band would randomly jump onto the thing the synth was sitting on while it was twirling up and down. They also had a giant baseball bat they'd hit a tin can with to make noises in some of their songs. AND at one point we all had to kneel down on the ground (general admission) and when Corey said jump up, the whole crowd had to jump up. It was amazing, and so much fun, even if I did get thrown around a lot and got a few elbows to the ribcage and people pulling my air and kicked in the face and things of the sort! You learn to get used to that after going to a lot of rock concerts. It was even better because over time SlipKnot's become one of my favorite bands.

The show ended around 11, and Max ended up catching a drum stick (how awesome!). The second we got into the car I had a delirious moment of nonstop laughter for no reason and knew I would be sleeping the entire ride home.. which I did. I felt bad for leaving Max but he said he didn't mind, and before we knew it we were home at 2 AM.

I didn't end up waking up today until around 1 PM today, sleeping through my alarm to wake up at 9 AM and seven text messages when my phone was vibrating right under my head >.<. But being Valentines day, I got to spend the day with my wonderful boyfriend. We both ended up making each other heart shaped cookies (Hey.. it's a good idea..) and we went out to dinner at Chili's. We were going to go to Red Lobster but EVERYTHING was packed, and we had left at 4:20 to go out. Chili's only had a 15 min wait though and we both enjoy that restaurant.
All in all, good weekend so far!

Oh my goodness. Everyone must watch this

Oh my god, Ellen is a riot. So is this woman she is talking to. I love this show! (Wait a sec. for the vid to load if you don't see it right away.)

Concerts, concerts, concerts?!?!?!!!!

Since probably ninth grade I've been big into going to rock concerts. I've seen a ton of bands play live.. Breaking Benjamin, HURT, Seether, Three Days Grace, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Avenged Sevenfold.. just to name a few!
The only local band I ever go out of my way to see is Dakota John, my friend Autumn Haac's band- along with her brother Nick on guitar/backup vocals, Mike Tull on drums, and Jake on bass. They're awesome and I think they'll make it big.
This friday the 13th (Uh oh..) I'm going to see Slipknot, Coheed and Cambria and Trivium with my cousin Max, courtesy of my Aunt Margo (Love you!). I'm so pumped, I love Slipknot! I'll be sure to post pictures and tales of our adventure.
I'm also being dragged to A Taste of Chaos tour in March with my friend Rachel Rascona to see Bring me the Horizon and Pierce the Veil. I like both these bands, don't get me wrong, but I just wasn't feelin' it.. she managed to convince me, though, because it's not on a school night, and I don't have to drive. :)
One of my favorite concerts/gigs/whatever to go to is Warped Tour, though. The bands have gotten better and better over the years making it more appeasing to my taste in music. Last year was my first time going and I LOVED IT! I'm gonna go again this year in VA Beach, I can't wait.. especially since Streetlight Manifesto will be there, great ska band.
So if you couldn't tell, I love me some shows.. Friday's has me totally pumped and I just had to share my excitement with the about 5 or 6 of you that read this thing. Yay!
And for shits and giggles.. I leave you with the most unattractive picture ever of my friend Matt, myself, and Jared from Warped Tour last year. :D

Destructive much?

I have this god awful habit of picking the skin around my fingernails and my cuticles until I bleed, and it's very painful.. but it's a habit. I can't help it, at all! It helps me relieve stress and boredom and it sucks.
Lately, however, I've been running on the treadmill we recently obtained and I'm finding that it's also a good stress burner. But it's hard to inspire myself to run sometimes, especially if there's nothing good in TV.. I'm way too hard to entertain for long periods of time. Hopefully though I'll at least lose a few pounds or stay my healthy size and I'll be happy.

I also work tonight, and I don't wanna go.. I never want to work, and it sucks. Because it's way to hit or miss with where I work so I hate not being able to know if we're gonna be dead or busy. Unless I'm aware of one or the other I usually loathe going and count down the seconds until I have to mental prepare myself to handle my coworkers.
BUT on the bright side, It's going to be 60 degrees tomorrow and I  have my first lesson with Jen in over a year and a half.. I can't wait!

Stupidstupidstupid.

So my day was complete and utter poop yesterday. Some of the big things that made it suck are not blog-worthy.. but I managed to take off the entire front bumper of my car whilst backing out of my parking spot from work. I'm not sure why or how it happened but I have a feeling how it happened. The spot where I parked has a little garden-type thing in front of it instead of the traditional cement stopping block or whatever it's called.. it has a wooden one that's higher up than the average one. I didn't hear a sound or even feel my car move at all weirdly when I parked, so I went on with my evening at work. But I do have a very low to the ground car so I think it might of latched on to a screw in the wood and there was no saving it. I feel so bad for that poor car, it's been nothing but good to me.. unlike the Chrysler (Stupid, mean car).. Oh well. My wonderful daddy'll find someone to fix it and it'll be good as new. Hopefully sooner than later.
I also managed to almost hit a squirrel before work which scared the living crap out of me. I saw the look of fear in its eyes when it was an inch away from my wheel when I stopped, and then I blinked again and it was halfway up a tree in someones yard. Poor squirrel. It reminds me of how when my mom used to drive Joey and I to Westside Elementary every morning and there would be squirrels all over the place. She would always comment on not wanting to hit one, and we came close several times. They're so stupid, but so cute and fuzzy..

I'm going to go sleep away my afternoon now. ZzZzZ

Woohoo!

What an awesome game last night, holy cow! It totally kept me on my toes. Obviously, I am happy with the outcome! :)
Holmes was the man to be last night, and the MVP. He made an amazing catch in the last 2 minutes or so of the 4th quarter that saved our asses. Then there was Roethlisburger of course who made that ass-saving throw.. and was just flat out awesome. He's really a great QB. Can't forget about Harrison, who made that CRAZY INTERCEPTION and went for the TD which was one of the best plays in Steelers Superbowl history!! Such a thrilling night. I'm tired from all the excitement.. and the lack of sleep.

On another note: Today marks me and Jared dating for 15 months.. holy cow. I can't believe it's been this long! We've had quite the journey. But through all the bad times, and the good, I still love him. :)

Anyway.. I'm off to school. Poop.

Here we go, Steelers, Here we go!

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, today is the big day. FOR VICTORY!! (I shouldn't be so confident it might jinx me :S)
Today is also the day that I get to go see Callie for the first time by myself since she moved. Apparently her and one of Jen's horses are not seeing eye-to-eye very well so this should be interesting.
